Charger Meetups are popping up in cities around the world. So far Chicago has the largest Chargers Meetup on the map.
Here are a couple notes to make your Chargers Meetup awesome...
PICK A MEETUP SPOT
Every Meetup should have a venue -- after all, you need to know where to meet! If you're the organizer, you should set a
venue. If there is no Organizer, step up to declare the spot in your town, or leave the venue in the comments.
GET THE WORD OUT TO FELLOW FANS
Chargers games are better when you watch with Chargers fans. Help get the word out to fans now. Get the word out to bolts
blogs, communities, on Facebook/Twitter, and here on CHARGERTOM.COM . Tell them to sign up at http://meetup.com/chargers
to help put their city on the map. We will give a shout out to the largest Chargers Meetup.
SHOW UP & HAVE FUN
Simple as that. Joel Price // Chargers.com

Tag any tweets, photos, and videos with ChargersMeetup.
Add info@meetup.com to your address book to receive all Meetup emails.
Be sure to let us know so we can post on www.chargertom.com/Gathering.html and to get your Meetup spot listed on this Page.
Send email to: chargertom@aol.com
Ask us where fans gather in your area and we
will solicit an address from others in your area.
We are EVERYWHERE and this is the year to unite in every town to support our Chargers. Tell us where you gather and we will list it here.
Send us PICTURES of your gatherings and we will post them here. If you just want to list you name and e-mail address as a fan from outside of San Diego so maybe some other Charger fan in your area might contact you, that's welcomed too.

Chargers group with exclusive gathering place has formed in
Huntington Beach, California.
I'm pleased to announce that I believe I have found our new home at Michael's Sport's Pub in Westminster. (Right off the 405 Freeway at Bolsa Ave. / Westminster Blvd.)
This place is big, bright, has good food and drink, good service and was actually my first choice when searching for a place last year. They plan to put us in our own area, up by the pool tables, where we'll have our own sound, big screen TV and two smaller TV's to view the Charger games!
I am hoping that this is a good fit for our group and will encourage a high attendance rate. I pay for this meetup out of my own pocket and all I ask in return is for people to show up. It's been disappointing that out of some 93 members, we're only getting about 6-10 people showing up, per game so far. With turn out like that, I'm not sure how long I will be able to continue to do this group, after this season.
So please, tell your friends, spread the word, come out, show up and support the group...and your team! I am going to reserve the right to cancel future events of 10 or less attendees. So please be sure that you 'Confirm' your RSVP for an event when you receive the email request to do so.
Also, we're all adults, we all know that you need to tip at least 15% or more for good service. If you need a tip calculator, I have one on my phone. A good rule of thumb is to double the tax amount. We need a viewing place so let's not burn bridges. These servers work hard bringing us our drinks and food for 3+ hours, so please have respect for both their time/profession and for our group.
I am very much looking forward to trying Michael's. I hope you will come out and join me. I look forward to seeing your faces! Go Bolts!!!
Cheers, Liane, Organizer~SoCal Charger Fans.
Go to the Meetup site and join the Group for all the information and to meet a GREAT group of Charger's people. Spread the word to all your friends and acquaintances in and around the Huntington Beach/Orange County area. Rise up Charger fans!!! Loud and proud! CLICK THE LINK NOW ....

My name is
Wolfgang and I am originally from San Diego, Allied Gardens (just north of
SDSU) to be exact. I recently moved to
Albuquerque, New Mexico and found a place
called
Spectators.
The satellite manager there, Chris H. is a die-hard Charger fan and does his
best to get the Bolts on one of the main screens each Sunday. I am trying to
get as many Charger fans in Albuquerque as possible to know about the place so
that we can have the "majority rules" influence in deciding which screen the
Chargers are shown on as well as the primary sound from that game.
Spectators is located at the corner of Eubank and
Juan Tabo, in the Smiths shopping center - 5850 Eubank Blvd., NE, #59, Phone
505-275-1166. Come join us and Go Bolts!!!! Check out:

Pittsburgh
-- Come watch the Chargers play with a ex-Charger Cheerleader at

cute little red-head in the Charger Jersey yelling the loudest at the bar.

Fox
Sports Grill, 31 Fortune Drive, in the
Irvine Spectrum,
Irvine, California. All of you
OC (Orange
County) Chargers fans looking for a
place to cheer on the Bolts -- this could be it. Get in your colors and get
there.
Its pretty large and impersonal so if you are looking for more "ownership", try Rudy's below ...
Rudy's
Pub and Grill, 3110 Newport Blvd.,
Newport Beach;
OC (Orange
County),
California.
If all you need to make you happy is a cold brew and a
laid-back, friendly place to watch the game on TV, give Rudy's a try. Billed as
one of the area's most popular sports bars, Rudy's has the distinct look and
feel of a neighborhood haunt, from framed photographs to a friendly waitstaff,
who make it a point to learn the names of repeat customers. TVs of all shapes
and sizes (30 plasma screens!) surround the main seating area, promising clear
sight lines no matter how packed the place is. A retractable roof and a patio
bar are great when the weather's particularly nice.

I grew up in Poway, California and lived all over SoCal. I have ALWAYS
been a Chargers fan; no bandwagon here! I even had season tickets when I
lived up in Orange County. My family has all moved to
San Antonio, Texas
and we go to the
Rolling Oaks Golf
Course off of 1604 & Judson, on the
northside, to watch the games. All Chargers fans in the San Antonio area
are invited to join us so more and more Bolts Fans can show their support
together.
Charger fan located in Portland, Oregon. Still make a game or two down in
San Diego each year. Miss the Hawks (Seahawks) being in the AFC
West, always caught that game.
If you're in Portland, visit my falafel stand called "Fat Kitty Falafel" on SE 20th Ave and SE Division Street. Directions are at my website at www.fatkitty.biz

Also die-hard Bolt fans are at every game at Claudia's Sports Pub and Grill on SE 30th and Hawthorne. Come watch a game with us; you'll feel like you're "at home." A diverse menu, featuring quality food in plentiful portions, has made Claudia’s the most popular tavern eatery. To compliment our fine food, we have one of Oregon’s largest selection of imported, micro, and domestic beers. For your sports viewing, we currently offer high definition big screen TV, ten satellite receivers, as well as numerous monitors. Claudia’s prides itself in continuing to provide the best in sports viewing. 3006 S.E. Hawthorne, Portland, Oregon. Phone 503.232.7243

Handlebar
and Grill, 19345 N. Indian Avenue,

Palm Springs. A little off the main drag, but they have occasional bike
runs that draw a decent crowd. This bar loves classic rock and they love
the San Diego Chargers. Join in. Contact Karen. Phone

McCabe's
Bar and Grill, 2455 Santa
Monica Blvd., Santa Monica,
California.
McCabe's simple, one-room layout features a duo of pool tables to the left, a
scattering of tables and chairs to the right, and a line of demarcation down the
center set by a wooden partition. The old-school bar stretches across the back,
flanked by suspended TVs at each end. Several beers on tap and in bottles, as
well as cocktails and wine, are available.
This is my favorite bar in LA. The bartenders are
really cute and uber-nice, especially Vanessa, Vicki, Andrea, Jen and Nicola.
The food is excellent and reasonably priced. They have 15 Hi-Def TVs and all the
sports packages. Their happy hour is awesome, the best deal in town.

Frankie's
Sports Bar and Grill opened in the summer of 2000. Since that
time it has grown from a humble, local haunt into the finest sports bar
Dallas, Texas has to offer. Maintaining its
promise of above standard cuisine, Frankie's has perfected the art of "Bar
Food" into what USA Today referred to as, ''...a menu on steroids." But we
know it takes more than great food to be a great sports bar. Add to our
atmosphere, the deluge of light and activity as you are surrounded by more
than thirty High-Definition plasma televisions - nary a bad seat in the
house. These televisions, which include two 10' HDTV projection systems and
two separate patios, each with two 42" HD plasmas, deliver the best of
today's sports programming. All the major DirecTV packages (Professional
and Collegiate) as well as UFC and Setanta World Cup Soccer action can be
seen from every corner of this "over sized den." If sound is important to
you, rest assured you can hear your game on wireless receivers right at your
table so you won't miss anything from the kickoff to the final whistle.

Jeremy
says, the
Sports Column in
LoDo, Denver, Colorado is a cool place to watch
any of the Chargers' games. Over 40 TV's with about 10 of them being
giant projection screens. If you are in Denver area and want to see
the Bolts kick some butt, this is the place. Although the owner's can

The Ram is a private, independent,
family-owned and operated restaurant business. We were born on February 26,
1971 when our founders took their entrepreneurial spirit and experiences
they received making pizza and serving beer at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor to open
their own restaurant. That first restaurant was called the Ram Pub, which
was a “Deluxe Tavern” that served hot food, including cook-your-own burgers
and steaks, along with beer and wine.

My name is Brian and I just moved to Rochester, NY to go to P.A. school at
Rochester Institute of Technology. I arrived Saturday, August 30. I
am going to be living with a friend and his wife for a couple of months in an
apartment. So I can't get DirecTV here. I was wondering if anyone
could help me find a Sports Bar or someone in the
Rochester/Buffalo area that carries or watches the Chargers games.
Please help me, I am a die-hard who bleeds Blue and Gold. I will die if I
can't watch the second Chiefs/Chargers game or any of the rest of them.
Thanks, Brian.

SAN DIEGO
CALIFORNIA
According to its website, The High Dive is "an upscale dive bar." Absolutely. If you know The High Dive, you understand what this means. It's small, dark despite its wall of windows, full of vintage decor, weathered furniture and fixtures, yet has a wealth of plasma televisions, a high-tech sound system and serves Amstel Light.
If you go to The High Dive during football season, make sure you are a San Diego Charger fan. There are several aspects of The High Dive that set it apart from other sports bars, and to appreciate any of them, you had better love the Chargers. The Dive is too small for its typical football crowd, but there are plenty of televisions to accommodate a multitude of fans. That is, until the Charger game comes on. If you have come to watch one of the morning match ups, pray your game doesn't go into overtime. When the Chargers play, every TV, except for the one facing the bathroom, switches over.
If the television imbalance merely upsets the out-of-town fan, the steady stream of powder-blue and gold pouring in through the door usually clears them out. San Diego fans, and indeed San Diegans themselves, are among the most considerate in the world, but tables at The Dive are always at a premium, and if you get caught in the bar not wearing Charger gear, everyone who is will come up and ask you, politely, "are you leaving?"
Then, of course, there is The Shrine. LaDanian Tomlinson, San Diego's running back and savior, has an altar mounted on the north wall, featuring photos, incense, prayer-candles and assorted LT-memorabilia. In what can only be labeled as charming, or, for the out-of-towner, the last straw, the staff holds a ceremony in homage of the indomitable #21. Accompanied by the motivating crescendo of the theme from Superman, a bartender and entourage of servers parade a can of Red Bull around as much of the room as they can reach, then place it on the altar, to the raucous cheers of a dedicated, and now wholly inspired congregation.
If the non-fan hasn't left by now, they are simply asking for it. Every time the Chargers score, the "San Diego Super Chargers" song is blasted, in its entirety, through the PA. If you do not love the Chargers, you already hate this song. It is, admittedly, the auditory equivalent of un-anesthetized dental surgery, and hearing it several times in the same afternoon will make you wish for death.
The Dive serves grill fare, has a full bar, and the prices are rather reasonable, probably due to it's not-entirely-central location. Come to The High Dive on a Sunday, and if you are not one already, be a Charger fan for a day. Get swept up in one of a few pure displays of San Diego spirit, pride, and camaraderie. Come back on the bye week if you want to see how the place actually looks.
