Another Grand Slam for Honus Wagner. The finest known example of the
famed T206 Honus Wagner baseball card has found another new home a
little more than six months after selling for a then-record shattering
price of $2.35 million in February to a California private collector.

LATEST CHARGERS NEWS STORY

CB Antoine Cason. San Diego has two good corners in Quentin
Jammer and Antonio Cromartie, but Cason should play the nickel as a rookie and
could end up starting at corner or safety down the road. Cason also brings
outstanding intangibles and character to the Chargers’ already strong locker
room. See analysis.

RB Jacob Hester. Listed as a fullback, the Chargers had Hester announced
as a running back at the podium in New York Sunday. And that's what he will be
in San Diego. He is expected to take over for the departed Turner as
LaDainian Tomlinson's primary backup. Turner left as a free agent last month.
See analysis.

RB Marcus Thomas. Thomas ran for 1,166 yards (5.1 YPC) and scored 16 TDs
as a senior for the Miners. He was used in the passing game throughout his
career. Thomas ran in the 4.6s at the Combine and is 6'1/215. Among Darren
Sproles and Jacob Hester, Thomas could emerge as the safest bet to be LaDainian
Tomlinson's direct backup. See analysis.

CB DeJuan Tribble. Very Athletic, but smallish shutdown type corner. He
has a nose for the ball and knows how to take it to the house once he picks it
off. He can also contribute on special teams as a returner.
See analysis.
OT Corey Clark. Like Anthony Alabi (KC), Clark will need a steady yet
patient coach. Clark is more of a leaner at this stage and needs to gain
confidence in his hand placement and punch. He is not strong enough to handle
the strong side and must improve his lateral range to be effective isolated
against edge rushers on the weak side. With his ability to adjust to the blitz
and set low in pass protection, there is enough potential here to warrant his
late-round look. See analysis.

I BUY SAN DIEGO CHARGERS FOOTBALL TRADING CARDS
Whether you are the fan of a certain
team, player or college, it is always fun to track down that card that
you have been looking for. Did you know that the first football card
appeared over 100 years ago? The first known cards depicting football
players are the 1894 Mayo cards. This set contained 35 cards of the top
Ivy League players. One card has no specific identification of the
player but it is believed to be John Dunlop from Harvard. This card is
one of the most sought
after cards and is rarely seen. There are less
than 10 known copies of this card. It has a book value of $18,000 in
Ex-Mt condition.
The 1933 multi-sport Goudy Sport Kings issue included cards of Red
Grange, Knute Rockne and Jim Thorpe. It was not until 1948 that the next
set of football cards hit the corner drug store. In 1948, both Bowman
and Leaf issued football card sets that came with bubble gum in packs.
Since then there has been at least one football card set issued per
year until today.![]()
